전남 RISE사업 국비 54억 추가 확보…총 727억 규모로 확대

전라남도가 지역혁신중심 대학지원체계(RISE) 사업에 국비 54억 원을 추가 확보했다.

이에 따라 2025년 전남RISE 사업비는 총 727억 원 규모로 확대됐다.

이번 추가 지원은 전남도가 재정여건에 비해 고등교육에 대한 지방비 투자율이 전국 최고 수준을 기록, 교육부로부터 최고등급 인센티브를 받은 결과다.

전남RISE 사업은 글로벌 지역특화 인재양성, 지역 산업혁신 챌린지, 전문직업평생교육 허브센터, 초연결 공유캠퍼스, 역동적 대학-지역 동반성장 등 5대 프로젝트 52개 과제로 추진 중이며, 도내 18개 대학이 참여하고 있다.

도는 이번 사업을 통해 지역산업과 연계한 현장 인재 육성, 대학 연구역량을 활용한 기술개발, 대학생 창업기업 지원, 지역 정주 취업률 향상 등에 집중할 방침이다.

또한 지·산·학·연 거버넌스를 확대하고 국정과제 및 지역 현안과 연계한 신규 과제를 발굴해 교육·취업·창업·정주의 선순환 체계를 강화한다는 전략이다.

김영록 전남도지사는 “지역의 지속가능한 발전을 위해서는 인재 양성이 핵심”이라며 “전남RISE와 글로컬대학 등 전남형 고등교육 정책을 통해 대학이 지역발전의 원동력이 되도록 적극 지원하겠다.”고 밝혔다.

Total Project Budget Expands to KRW 72.7 Billion
Top-tier Incentive from the Ministry of Education Expected to Boost Talent Development and University Competitiveness
Jeollanam-do has secured an additional KRW 5.4 billion in national funding for its Regional Innovation-led University Support System (RISE) project.
As a result, the total budget for the 2025 Jeonnam RISE project has expanded to KRW 72.7 billion.
This additional funding was made possible as Jeonnam recorded the nation’s highest rate of local government investment in higher education relative to its fiscal capacity, thereby receiving the highest-tier incentive from the Ministry of Education.
The Jeonnam RISE project consists of 52 initiatives under five major programs: ▲Global Region-Specialized Talent Development, ▲Regional Industry Innovation Challenge, ▲Professional and Lifelong Education Hub Center, ▲Hyper-connected Shared Campus, and ▲Dynamic University-Community Co-Growth. A total of 18 universities across the province are currently participating in the project.
The province plans to focus on nurturing field-ready talent linked to regional industries, supporting technology development through university research capabilities, fostering student-led start-ups, and enhancing local employment and settlement rates.
In addition, Jeonnam will expand governance among government, industry, academia, and research institutions, while also identifying new projects tied to national policy priorities and regional issues, thereby strengthening the virtuous cycle of education, employment, entrepreneurship, and local settlement.
Governor Kim Yung-rok stated, “Nurturing talent is key to achieving sustainable regional development,” emphasizing, “Through Jeonnam RISE, Glocal Universities, and other Jeonnam-style higher education policies, we will actively support universities so that they become driving forces of the province’s growth.”
