김영록 전라남도지사가 추석을 앞두고 지난해 발생한 제주항공 여객기 추락사고 희생자들을 추모하고 유가족들에게 위로의 뜻을 전했다.

김 지사는 3일 무안국제공항 내 마련된 합동분향소를 찾아 헌화·분향하며 희생자들의 넋을 기렸다.

이어 유가족 쉘터를 방문해 김유진 유가족 대표 등과 면담을 갖고 깊은 애도와 위로의 마음을 담은 서한문을 전달했다.

김 지사는 “지난해 참사로 소중한 가족을 잃은 유가족들께 깊은 위로를 전한다.”며 “도민 모두가 한마음으로 곁을 지켜 다시 평온과 희망을 회복하시길 기원한다.”고 말했다.

또한 “유가족이 납득할 수 있는 철저한 진상규명이 반드시 이뤄져야 한다.”며 “객관적이고 공정한 조사 결과가 조속히 발표될 수 있도록 전라남도가 끝까지 함께하겠다.”고 강조했다.

이어 “생활·의료비 지원 등 각종 지원사업을 차질없이 추진해 유가족께 실질적인 도움이 되도록 하겠다.”고 덧붙였다.

전남도는 앞으로도 유가족의 목소리를 꾸준히 청취하고 피해자 지원을 적극 추진해 나갈 방침이다.

Governor Kim Yung-rok of Jeollanam-do offered condolences to the bereaved families of last year’s Jeju Air passenger plane crash victims ahead of the Chuseok holiday.
On October 3, Governor Kim visited the joint memorial altar set up at Muan International Airport, where he laid flowers and paid tribute to the victims.
He then visited the family shelter, met with bereaved family representatives including Kim Yu-jin, and conveyed his deep sympathy and condolences, delivering a letter of comfort.
Governor Kim stated, “I extend my heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families who lost their beloved ones in last year’s tragedy. The people of Jeollanam-do stand with you in unity, wishing that you may once again find peace and hope.”
He further stressed, “A thorough investigation that the families can accept must be carried out. Jeollanam-do will stand firmly with you until objective and fair results are released as soon as possible.”
Governor Kim also pledged, “We will implement support programs without delay, including assistance for living and medical expenses, to provide practical help for the families.”
Jeollanam-do will continue to listen closely to the voices of the bereaved families and actively pursue measures to support the victims.
