전통복식 패션쇼·신한복 컬렉션·산업화 학술세미나 등 다채

전라남도는 ‘2025 한복문화주간’을 맞아 보성 전남한복문화창작소(대표 심향란)에서 지난 22일부터 26일까지 5일간 전통과 현대가 어우러진 한복문화 향연을 성황리에 개최했다고 밝혔다.

이번 행사는 문화체육관광부 주최, 한국공예·디자인문화진흥원과 전남도, 보성군, 전남한복문화창작소가 공동 주관했으며, ‘우리 모두 가치(GREEN) 한복’을 주제로 다채로운 프로그램이 진행됐다.

22일 한옥동 특설무대에서 열린 개막 패션쇼에서는 왕의 황룡포, 문무관의 단령, 선비의 도포·철릭·답호 등 조선시대 전통복식이 재현돼 큰 호응을 얻었다.

이어 천연염색 전문공방 ‘숨’에서 제작한 친환경 신한복 컬렉션도 함께 선보여, 전남도가 추진하는 지속가능한 한복산업의 비전을 제시했다.

행사 기간 동안 전남한복문화창작소는 패션쇼뿐 아니라 학술세미나, 스템프투어, 천연염색 체험, 한복 입어보기 등 다양한 프로그램을 운영하며 한복문화 확산에 나섰다.

특히 24일에는 ‘아시아 전통직물의 현황과 보성삼베의 활성화 방안’을 주제로 한 학술세미나가 열려 전남 전통직물의 산업화와 세계화를 모색했다.

또한 보성 열선루공원과 전남도청 일대에서는 플리마켓과 전통공예 전시가 진행돼, 천연염색 스카프, 노리개, 업사이클링 소품 등 남도 장인들의 작품들이 관람객들의 눈길을 사로잡았다.

전남한복문화창작소 전시실에서는 ‘오래된 미래’ 한복문화전이 오는 11월 30일까지 이어지며, 전남도의 색과 선, 공예정신을 담은 전통복식의 미학을 선보인다.

전남한복문화창작소 관계자는 “전남의 한복이 전통을 넘어 일상 속 문화로 자리 잡도록 앞으로도 다양한 프로그램을 이어가겠다.”고 말했다.

한편 전남한복문화창작소는 29일 경북 경주 월정교 특설무대에서 열리는 APEC 정상회의 한복패션쇼에 참가해 남도의 감성과 전통이 깃든 한복의 아름다움을 세계무대에 선보일 계획이다.

Traditional Costume Fashion Show, Eco-Friendly New Hanbok Collection, and Industry-Focused Academic Seminar Highlight 2025 Hanbok Culture Week
Jeollanam-do announced that the 2025 Hanbok Culture Week was successfully held at the Jeonnam Hanbok Culture Creation Center in Boseong (Director: Shim Hyang-ran) from October 22 to 26, showcasing a five-day celebration of Hanbok culture blending tradition and modernity.
The event was hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and jointly organized by the Korea Craft & Design Foundation, Jeollanam-do, Boseong County, and the Jeonnam Hanbok Culture Creation Center. Under the theme “GREEN Hanbok: Valuing Hanbok for All”, a variety of programs were presented.
On October 22, the opening fashion show at the special stage in Hanok-dong recreated traditional Joseon-era costumes, including the king’s hwangryongpo (yellow dragon robe), court officials’ danryeong, and scholars’ dapo, cheolik, and dapo-style robes, receiving enthusiastic responses from the audience.
The event also featured an eco-friendly New Hanbok collection created by the natural dye studio “Sum,” highlighting Jeollanam-do’s vision for a sustainable Hanbok industry.
Throughout the event, the Jeonnam Hanbok Culture Creation Center offered various programs to promote Hanbok culture, including academic seminars, stamp tours, natural dye workshops, and Hanbok try-on experiences.
On October 24, an academic seminar titled “The Current Status of Traditional Asian Textiles and Strategies for Revitalizing Boseong Hemp” explored ways to industrialize and globalize Jeollanam-do’s traditional textiles.
In addition, flea markets and traditional craft exhibitions were held at Boseong Yeolseonru Park and around the Jeonnam Provincial Office, attracting visitors with local artisans’ works, such as naturally dyed scarves, norigae (traditional ornaments), and upcycled items.
The “Ancient Future” Hanbok Culture Exhibition continues at the Jeonnam Hanbok Culture Creation Center exhibition hall until November 30, showcasing the aesthetic beauty of traditional costumes that reflect Jeollanam-do’s colors, lines, and craftsmanship spirit.
A representative from the Jeonnam Hanbok Culture Creation Center stated, “We will continue diverse programs to ensure that Jeollanam-do’s Hanbok becomes a part of daily culture, beyond its traditional roots.”
Meanwhile, the Center is set to participate in the APEC Leaders’ Meeting Hanbok Fashion Show on October 29 at the special stage at Woljeonggyo in Gyeongju, presenting the beauty of Hanbok infused with Jeolla’s sentiment and tradition to the global stage.
