영·호남, 다문화로 하나되다!

전라남도와 전남도다문화가족지원거점센터는 6일부터 7일까지 경상북도 안동에서 경북도 및 경북도가족센터와 함께 ‘결혼이주여성 영·호남 교류행사’를 성황리에 개최했다.

이번 행사는 지난해 경북도 결혼이주여성들의 전남 영암·신안 방문에 이어 두 번째로 마련된 자리로, 결혼이주여성이 가족의 역할에서 벗어나 스스로를 위한 휴식과 교류의 시간을 가지며 지역사회 정착을 돕기 위해 추진됐다.

행사에는 전남·경북 가족센터 관계자와 결혼이주여성 70여 명이 참석했으며, ‘공존을 위한 감수성 및 의사소통 증진’을 주제로 한 특강이 진행돼 큰 호응을 얻었다.

또한 참가자들은 각자의 결혼 생활 경험과 한국 문화 적응 과정에서의 어려움을 나누며 상호 이해와 우정, 협력의 의미를 되새기는 교류의 장을 만들었다.

전남지역 참가자들은 이틀 동안 유네스코 세계유산인 안동 병산서원과 하회마을을 방문, 한국의 역사와 전통문화를 직접 체험하며 문화적 공감대를 넓혔다.

이정준 전라남도 이민정책과장은 “이번 교류가 영·호남 간 화합은 물론, 결혼이주여성들이 서로의 문화를 이해하고 마음을 나누는 소중한 계기가 됐다”며 “앞으로도 다양한 프로그램을 통해 다문화가족이 지역사회에 안정적으로 정착하도록 적극 지원하겠다.”고 밝혔다.

**Yeongnam and Honam United Through Multicultural Harmony!
70 Marriage Migrant Women Build Friendship and Cooperation in Andong**
Jeollanam-do Province and the Jeonnam Multicultural Family Support Hub Center successfully hosted the “Yeongnam–Honam Exchange Program for Marriage Migrant Women” in Andong, Gyeongsangbuk-do, from November 6 to 7, in partnership with the Gyeongsangbuk-do Government and the Gyeongbuk Family Center.
Following last year’s visit of Gyeongsangbuk-do’s marriage migrant women to Yeongam and Shinan in Jeollanam-do, this year’s event was the second exchange between the two regions. The program aimed to give marriage migrant women a chance to step away from their family responsibilities, relax, and build connections that help them feel more settled in their local communities.
About 70 participants, including officials from both provinces’ family centers and marriage migrant women, attended the event. A special lecture on “Empathy and Communication for Coexistence” drew an enthusiastic response from attendees.
Participants also shared their personal experiences of married life and adapting to Korean culture, deepening mutual understanding and reaffirming friendship and cooperation between the two regions.
During the two-day program, the Jeonnam participants visited the UNESCO World Heritage sites of Byeongsan Seowon and Hahoe Village in Andong, gaining a firsthand experience of Korea’s traditional culture and history.
Lee Jung-jun, Director of Jeollanam-do’s Immigration Policy Division, said, “This exchange not only strengthened ties between Yeongnam and Honam but also provided a meaningful opportunity for marriage migrant women to understand each other’s cultures and share their hearts. We will continue to promote diverse programs that help multicultural families settle and thrive in local communities.”
