전남소방본부가 7일 영광 예술의전당에서 ‘제63주년 소방의 날’ 기념식을 열고 도민 안전문화 확산과 재난 대응 역량 강화를 다짐했다.

이번 행사는 전남에서 처음으로 도 단위로 열린 소방의 날 기념식으로, 도민의 생명과 재산을 지키기 위해 헌신한 소방공무원과 의용소방대원, 유공 도민의 노고를 격려하고 그 공헌을 널리 알리기 위해 마련됐다.

기념식에는 김영록 전라남도지사, 김태균 전남도의회 의장, 소방공무원, 의용소방대원, 유관기관 관계자 등 600여 명이 참석해 ‘안전 전남’의 비전을 함께했다.

행사는 영광군 난타·댄스팀의 식전공연을 시작으로, 국민의례, 대통령 축하 영상 상영, 소방 유공자 포상, 전남소방 홍보영상 상영 등의 순서로 진행됐다.

특히, 이번 행사는 도민과 소방조직이 함께하는 안전문화 확산의 장으로 의미를 더했다.

참석자들은 미래 소방 발전 방향을 공유하며 ‘생명의 땅 으뜸 전남’을 향한 새로운 각오를 다졌다.

김영록 도지사는 “도민의 생명과 안전을 위해 재난의 최 일선에서 헌신하는 소방가족께 깊이 감사드린다.”며 “앞으로 AI 기술을 소방 분야에 적극 접목해 도민 모두가 안심할 수 있는 ‘스마트 안전 전남’을 만들겠다.”고 밝혔다.

주영국 전남소방본부장은 “소방의 날을 맞아 도민의 신뢰 속에 성장한 전남소방의 발자취를 돌아보고, 더 안전한 전남을 만들기 위한 새로운 각오를 다지는 자리였다”며 “앞으로도 도민과 함께하는 현장 중심의 재난 대응으로 생명 보호에 최선을 다하겠다.”고 강조했다.

— Jeonnam Fire Headquarters Holds First Provincial-Level ‘Firefighting Day’ Ceremony, Vows to Promote Safety Culture —
The Jeonnam Fire Headquarters held the 63rd Firefighting Day Commemoration Ceremony on November 7 at the Yeonggwang Art Center, reaffirming its commitment to strengthening disaster response capabilities and expanding a culture of safety across the province.
This event marked the first-ever provincial-level Firefighting Day ceremony in Jeollanam-do, organized to honor the dedication of firefighters, volunteer fire brigade members, and citizens who have contributed to protecting lives and property, and to share their achievements with the community.
The ceremony brought together around 600 participants, including Governor Kim Yung-rok, Jeonnam Provincial Council Chair Kim Tae-gyun, firefighters, volunteer firefighters, and representatives from related agencies, united under the vision of creating a “Safe Jeonnam.”
The program began with a pre-ceremony performance by Yeonggwang County’s Nanta and dance teams, followed by the national pledge, a congratulatory video from the President, commendations for outstanding firefighters and citizens, and a promotional video highlighting the Jeonnam Fire Headquarters’ achievements.
In particular, the event served as a meaningful platform for fostering cooperation between residents and the firefighting organization, emphasizing the importance of safety culture as a shared community value.
Participants reflected on the future direction of firefighting in the province, renewing their commitment to building “Jeonnam, the Land of Life and Excellence.”
Governor Kim Yung-rok expressed deep gratitude, saying,
“I sincerely thank all firefighters who dedicate themselves on the front lines of disaster response to protect the lives and safety of our residents. Going forward, we will actively incorporate AI technologies into firefighting to build a ‘Smart and Safe Jeonnam’ where everyone can feel secure.”
Jeonnam Fire Chief Joo Young-guk added,
“On this Firefighting Day, we looked back on Jeonnam Fire’s growth based on the trust of our residents and renewed our determination to create a safer province. We will continue to prioritize field-oriented disaster response and do our utmost to protect lives in close cooperation with the community.”
