전라남도는 12일 정부서울청사에서 ‘12·29 여객기참사 피해자 지원·희생자 추모위원회’*가 공식 출범하고 첫 회의를 개최했다고 밝혔다.

이번 위원회는 피해자 치유와 지역경제 회복을 위한 범정부 차원의 종합 지원체계를 본격 가동하는 의미 있는 출발점이다.

■ 국무총리·전남도지사·유가족 대표 등 20명 참여
이날 회의에는 김민석 국무총리(위원장)를 비롯해 김영록 전남도지사, 박미경 민간위원장, 7개 관계부처 장관, 김유진 유가족 대표 등 총 20명이 참석했다.

회의에서는 위원회·자문단 운영계획, 피해지역 경제 활성화 방안, 피해자 종합지원대책 등 총 4개 안건이 심의·의결됐다.

항공·법률·세무 등 8개 분야 전문가로 구성되는 민간전문가 자문단은 유가족 질의 대응, 설명회 참여 등 전문적 자문 역할을 담당한다.

■ “지역경제 살린다.”… 1,300억 원 규모 활성화 패키지 논의
회의에서는 참사로 직격탄을 맞은 지역경제 회복을 위해 여행업·숙박업·지역상권 지원, 문화·관광사업 등 총 13건, 1,300억 원 규모의 대책이 집중 논의됐다.

특히 무안국제공항 폐쇄로 피해가 극심한 여행업계 지원을 위해 타 공항 이용 교통비 지원 등 국비 지원 필요성이 공식 제기됐다.

■ 생계·의료·심리지원 등 ‘피해자 종합지원’ 본격화
위원회는 피해자 지원을 위해 다음과 같은 내용을 의결했다.

생활지원금·특별지원금 지급, 신체·정신질환 치료비 전액 지원, 근로자 치유 휴직제 도입, 법률·행정 지원 체계 구축, 미성년 피해자 보호대책 강화이다.

김영록 지사는 “유족이 원하는 지원이 최대한 신속히 반영되도록 정부차원의 협조를 요청한다.”며 “전남도도 모든 역량을 집중해 지원 체계를 뒷받침하겠다.”고 밝혔다.

■ “무안공항 정상화 로드맵 조속 발표해야”
김 지사는 무안국제공항 폐쇄 장기화에 대해 “지역 여행업계와 주민 피해가 심각하다”고 강조하며 교통비 지원, 재개항 시기 및 정상화 로드맵 조기 발표를 정부에 강력히 건의했다.

■ “진상규명, 신속해야 한다.”… 방위각 시설 조사 결과 발표 촉구
참사 조사와 관련해 김 지사는 “이미 조사가 완료된 방위각 시설은 조속히 별도 발표를 진행해 유가족 신뢰를 회복해야 한다.”고 밝혔다.

■ “피해자 치유–지역 재도약 위한 첫걸음”
김영록 지사는 이번 회의를 “피해자 치유와 공동체 회복, 지역사회 재도약을 향한 의미 있는 첫걸음”이라 평가하며 “전남도는 정부와 긴밀히 협력해 진상규명·피해자 지원·추모 사업이 한 치의 차질도 없도록 최선을 다하겠다.”고 재차 강조했다.

■ 국무총리 소속 위원회, 향후 역할
지원·추모위원회는 국무총리 소속으로 운영되며 피해자 지원, 추모사업 추진, 재단·사단 선정 등 참사 관련 핵심 사안을 지속 심의·의결하게 된다.

Gov’t–Jeonnam Province Launch Official Victim Support & Memorial Committee**
Jeollanam-do Province announced on the 12th that the “12·29 Airliner Crash Victim Support and Memorial Committee” has been officially launched and held its first meeting at the Government Complex Seoul.
The committee marks the beginning of a full-scale, pan-government support system aimed at victim recovery and regional economic revitalization following the tragic accident.
■ Prime Minister, Jeonnam Governor, Ministers, and Victim Representatives Join — 20 Members in Total
The meeting was chaired by Prime Minister Kim Min-seok, with Governor Kim Yung-rok, Co-chair Park Mi-kyung, ministers from seven related ministries, and family representative Kim Yoo-jin among the 20 attendees.
Four key agenda items were reviewed and approved, including:
▲ operations plan for the committee and its advisory group,
▲ economic revitalization measures for the affected region,
▲ comprehensive victim support policies,
▲ and detailed implementation plans.
The civilian advisory group will include experts in eight fields—such as aviation, law, and taxation—to respond to inquiries from bereaved families and provide professional guidance through briefings and consultations.
■ “Reviving the Local Economy” — 130 Billion KRW Package Discussed
To help the region recover from the severe economic shock caused by the crash, the committee deliberated on 13 economic revitalization projects totaling 130 billion KRW, including support for travel agencies, lodging businesses, local commercial districts, and cultural–tourism initiatives.
Particular emphasis was placed on the serious impact from the closure of Muan International Airport, with calls for national subsidies to cover transportation costs for using alternative airports.
■ Comprehensive Victim Support: Living Assistance, Medical Care, Counseling
The committee adopted a broad set of victim assistance measures, including:
Living support grants and special relief payments
Full coverage of medical treatment for physical and psychological conditions
Healing/medical leave for affected workers
Legal and administrative assistance
Expanded protection measures for minor victims
Governor Kim Yung-rok stated,
“We ask for swift government cooperation so that all support requested by the bereaved families can be delivered without delay. Jeonnam Province will devote its utmost efforts to fully support the victims.”
■ “Announce Muan Airport’s Reopening Roadmap Immediately”
Governor Kim stressed the urgency of the prolonged closure of Muan International Airport, saying:
“The damage to local travel businesses and residents is severe.”
He formally requested:
▲ transportation subsidies, and
▲ an early announcement of the reopening schedule and the airport’s full normalization roadmap.
■ “Truth Must Be Revealed Quickly” — Calls for Immediate Release of Investigation Results
Regarding the ongoing investigation into the disaster, Governor Kim urged:
“For facilities such as the direction-finding station, where the investigation is already complete, the government should release the findings separately and without delay to restore trust among the bereaved families.”
■ “A First Step Toward Healing and Regional Recovery”
Governor Kim described the inaugural meeting as
“a meaningful first step toward victim healing, community recovery, and a renewed future for the region.”
He added,
“Jeonnam Province will work closely with the government to ensure that truth-finding, victim support, and memorial projects proceed without any setbacks.”
■ Committee Under the Prime Minister — Future Roles
The committee, operating under the Office of the Prime Minister, will continue to deliberate and decide on key matters such as victim support, memorial projects, and the selection of related public foundations and organizations.
