전라남도산림연구원 완도수목원은 오는 10월 5일부터 8일까지 추석 연휴 기간 동안 수목원 구역 전체를 무료로 개방한다고 밝혔다.

이번 무료 개방은 귀성객과 관광객이 난대림 속 산림휴양과 함께 수목원 곳곳을 자유롭게 걸으며 관람할 수 있도록 하기 위한 조치다.

주요 개방 시설로는 31개 전문소원과 산림박물관, 아열대온실, 탐방로 및 등산로 등 실내·외 관람시설이 포함된다.

완도수목원은 2천33ha에 달하는 국내 최대 규모의 난대림 수목원으로, 동백나무와 붉가시나무 등 814여 종의 자생식물이 분포하고 있다.

겨울철에도 늘푸른 산림자원을 자랑하며, 푸른 숲과 바다가 어우러진 천혜의 자연경관을 즐길 수 있다.

안병석 완도수목원장은 “추석 연휴 동안 자연 속에서 여유와 힐링을 느끼길 바란다.”며, “방문객들이 안전수칙을 지켜주신다면 더욱 즐겁고 뜻 깊은 명절 나들이가 될 것”이라고 말했다.

Wando Arboretum to Offer Free Admission During Chuseok HolidayOctober 5–8, 31 facilities including the Forest Museum, Specialized Gardens, and Subtropical Greenhouse open to the public
Wando Arboretum, operated by the Jeollanam-do Forest Research Institute, announced that the entire arboretum will be open free of charge during the Chuseok holiday, from October 5 to 8, 2025.
The free admission aims to allow visitors and returning hometown travelers to enjoy forest recreation in the subtropical forest while strolling through various parts of the arboretum.
The main facilities open to the public include 31 specialized gardens, the Forest Museum, a subtropical greenhouse, walking trails, and hiking courses, offering both indoor and outdoor experiences.
Covering 2,033 hectares, Wando Arboretum is the largest subtropical arboretum in Korea and is home to 814 native plant species, including camellias and red holly trees. Even during winter, the evergreen forest resources remain vibrant, allowing visitors to enjoy the natural scenery where lush forests meet the sea.
