전라남도가 지역 건축문화의 수준을 높이고 아름다운 도시경관을 조성한 건축물을 대상으로 선정하는 ‘2025 전남 우수건축물’ 공모 결과, 해남126 오시아노호텔 등 총 5개소가 영예를 안았다.

이번 선정은 공공부문 2개소와 민간부문 3개소로 나뉘어 진행됐다.

전남도 우수건축물은 준공된 건축물 가운데 지역 건축문화 발전과 관광 활성화에 기여한 작품을 대상으로 한다.

2022년 시작된 이 상은 지금까지 총 20개소를 선정하며 지역 랜드마크로 자리 잡았다.

특히 지난해부터는 도민이 많이 찾는 공공건축물도 대상 후보에 포함되었으며, 올해는 공공부문에서 첫 대상작이 선정됐다.

공공부문 대상은 해남 오시아노 관광단지의 ‘해남126 오시아노호텔’(건축주 한국관광공사)이 차지했다.

전 객실에서 탁 트인 오션뷰를 즐길 수 있으며, 자연과 조화를 이루는 공간 구성으로 방문객에게 평온함을 제공한다.

민간부문 최우수상은 나주에 위치한 ‘한국에너지공과대학교 RC기숙사&식당’(건축주 한국에너지공과대학교)이 선정됐다.

전면 유리창으로 채광과 조망을 극대화했으며, 신재생 에너지를 적극 도입해 친환경적 설계를 구현했다.

이 외에도 공공부문 우수상에는 광양 ‘한국창의예술중학교’가, 민간부문 우수상에는 무안 ‘봉불사 명상센터’와 담양 ‘담빛리주택’이 이름을 올렸다.

곽춘섭 전남도 건축개발과장은 “우수건축물 선정으로 건축주와 설계자가 창의적인 공간을 창조하도록 지원하고, 지역 랜드마크로 자리매김하도록 하겠다.”고 말했다.

“Jeonnam Architecture Harmonizes with Tourism” – Haenam O’Siano Hotel and Four Others Selected as ‘2025 Jeonnam Excellent Buildings’
JEONNAM, South Korea – The Jeollanam-do provincial government announced the results of the ‘2025 Jeonnam Excellent Buildings’ competition, which recognizes buildings that elevate regional architectural culture and enhance urban landscapes. A total of five buildings were honored, including the Haenam126 O’Siano Hotel.
The selection comprises two public sector buildings and three private sector buildings.
The Jeonnam Excellent Buildings award is given to newly completed structures that contribute to the development of regional architectural culture and promote tourism. Since its inception in 2022, a total of 20 buildings have been recognized, establishing themselves as local landmarks.
Notably, since last year, public buildings frequently visited by residents have been eligible for the top prize, and this year marked the first selection of a public-sector building as the grand winner.
The grand prize in the public sector went to the Haenam126 O’Siano Hotel in the Haenam O’Siano Tourist Complex (owner: Korea Tourism Organization). All rooms offer unobstructed ocean views, and the design harmonizes with nature, providing visitors with a serene experience as if embraced by the sea.
The top prize in the private sector was awarded to the RC Dormitory & Dining Hall at the Korea University of Energy Engineering in Naju (owner: Korea University of Energy Engineering). The building maximizes natural light and scenic views through large glass facades and integrates renewable energy systems to minimize energy consumption, reflecting the university’s focus on sustainable energy.
Other awardees include Korea Creative Arts Middle School in Gwangyang (public sector excellence award), and Bongbulsa Meditation Center in Muan and Dambit-ri Residence in Damyang (private sector excellence awards).
Gwak Chun-seop, Director of the Jeonnam Architecture Development Division, stated, “Through the selection of excellent buildings, we aim to support building owners and designers in creating innovative spaces and help these buildings become landmarks in their communities.”
