전라남도가 4일 순천 에코그라드호텔에서 ‘K-지역관광시대, 전남이 선도하다’를 주제로 2025 전남 관광개발 포럼을 개최했다.
이번 포럼은 K-콘텐츠와 남해안 관광의 융합 발전 및 지역관광 활성화 방안을 모색하기 위해 마련됐다.
전남도가 주최하고 전남도관광재단 등이 공동 주관한 이번 행사에는 강위원 전남도 경제부지사, 이광일 전남도의회 부의장, 관광 전문가 등 지역 관광 관계자들이 참석했다.
강위원 부지사는 환영사에서 “전남은 천혜의 자연과 역사, 맛, 멋이 살아 있는 보물 같은 지역”이라며, “K-콘텐츠와 결합한 새로운 관광 패러다임으로 세계 속 관광 중심지로 도약할 것”이라고 밝혔다.
이어 그는 “전남과 경남, 부산을 잇는 남해안 관광권을 세계적 수준의 해양·섬 관광지로 육성해 글로벌 관광객이 찾는 K-지역관광의 선도 모델로 만들겠다.”고 강조했다.
기조연설에서는 박양우 전 문화체육관광부 장관이 ‘지역관광의 내일’을 주제로, 지역 주도의 관광정책 체계 확립을 통한 진정한 지역관광 시대의 필요성을 역설했다.
주제발표에서는 ‘K-콘텐츠와 남해안 관광 융합 발전 전략’, ‘지역 간 연계 협력 방안’ 등이 소개됐다.
전남만의 차별화된 관광 콘텐츠를 활용한 남해안권 연계 관광, 콘텐츠 기반 관광산업 육성, 글로벌 경쟁력 확보 전략 등이 논의됐다.
종합토론에서는 ‘남해안 관광 발전을 위한 협력 생태계 구축 방안’을 주제로 심도 있는 논의가 진행됐다. 토론자들은 남해안권 공동 관광벨트 조성, 민관협력 기반 지속가능 관광 생태계 구축, 청년 창업 및 관광 스타트업 육성, 지역 주민 참여형 관광 모델 확산의 필요성을 강조했다.
전남도는 이번 포럼에서 나온 제언을 바탕으로 지속가능한 관광정책을 추진, 전남을 세계적 관광 명소로 발전시킬 계획이다.
유현호 전남도 관광체육국장은 “이번 포럼은 지역관광의 지속가능한 성장 방향을 제시한 뜻깊은 자리였다.”며, “앞으로 남해안권 지역 간 연계를 통해 공동 관광브랜드 구축, 콘텐츠 융합형 관광산업 육성 등 실질적 성과로 이어가겠다.”고 밝혔다.

"Jeonnam Leads the Future of Tourism with K-Content and South Coast Tourism!"
Suncheon Hosts ‘K-Regional Tourism Era, Jeonnam Leads’ Forum
On November 4, Jeonnam Province held the 2025 Jeonnam Tourism Development Forum at the Eco-Grad Hotel in Suncheon, under the theme “K-Regional Tourism Era, Jeonnam Leads.”
The forum was organized to explore strategies for integrating K-content with South Coast tourism and to promote regional tourism development.
Hosted by Jeonnam Province and co-organized by the Jeonnam Tourism Foundation, the event was attended by local tourism officials, including Kang Wi-won, Jeonnam’s Vice Governor for Economic Affairs, Lee Kwang-il, Vice Chairman of the Jeonnam Provincial Council, and tourism experts.
In his welcome speech, Vice Governor Kang stated, “Jeonnam is a treasure trove of natural beauty, history, taste, and culture. By combining K-content with a new tourism paradigm, we aim to position Jeonnam as a global tourism hub.”
He added, “We plan to develop the South Coast tourism area, connecting Jeonnam, Gyeongnam, and Busan, into a world-class marine and island tourist destination, establishing a leading model of K-regional tourism that attracts global visitors.”
In the keynote speech, former Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Park Yang-woo emphasized the importance of establishing a region-led tourism policy framework to usher in a true era of regional tourism.
Thematic presentations highlighted strategies such as integrating K-content with South Coast tourism and enhancing interregional cooperation. Discussions focused on leveraging Jeonnam’s unique tourism content, promoting interlinked tourism across the South Coast, nurturing content-driven tourism industries, and securing global competitiveness.
During the comprehensive panel discussion on building a collaborative ecosystem for South Coast tourism, participants emphasized the need for creating a joint tourism belt, fostering a sustainable tourism ecosystem through public-private cooperation, supporting youth entrepreneurship and tourism startups, and expanding community-based tourism models.
Jeonnam Province plans to use the recommendations from the forum to implement sustainable tourism policies and develop the region into a world-class tourist destination.
Yu Hyun-ho, Director of the Jeonnam Tourism and Sports Bureau, said, “This forum provided meaningful guidance on sustainable growth for regional tourism. Moving forward, we will focus on building joint tourism brands across the South Coast, developing content-integrated tourism industries, and achieving tangible results.”
