김영록 전라남도지사가 농업·농촌의 미래세대인 4-H회원들과 함께 전남농업의 ‘첨단 생명산업 도약’을 다짐했다.
전라남도는 7일 영광스포티움 국민체육센터에서 ‘2025 전남 4-H가족 어울림한마당’을 열고, 청소년과 청년 4-H회원의 성장을 응원하는 한편, 지속 가능한 미래농업 비전을 공유했다고 밝혔다.
이번 행사는 전남도와 영광군이 공동 주최하고 전남4-H본부가 주관했으며, 학생·청년·지도자 등 4-H회원 800여 명이 참석했다.
이개호·신정훈 국회의원, 김강헌 영광군의회 의장, 김성일·오미화 전남도의회 의원, 송광민 영광부군수, 시군농업기술센터 소장 및 4-H육성학교장 등도 함께했다.
행사는 식전 공연을 시작으로 우수회원 표창, 비전 퍼포먼스, 제6회 전남4-H대상 시상식, 회원 화합한마당 등 다채로운 프로그램으로 진행됐다.
또한 청년 4-H회원이 직접 생산한 농특산물 전시와 4-H운동의 역사를 담은 기록물 전시가 마련돼 참석자들의 큰 관심을 끌었다.
문호진 한국4-H전남본부 회장은 “전남4-H운동은 학교4-H회, 청년4-H, 후원지도자가 함께하는 인재육성 조직”이라며 “모두가 ‘좋은 것을 더욱 좋게, 실천으로 배우자’는 4-H의 정신으로 힘을 모으겠다.”고 말했다.
김영록 지사는 “4-H운동은 농업·환경·생명의 가치를 창출하는 청소년·청년 교육운동으로, 농업·농촌 발전의 원동력”이라며 “AI와 빅데이터를 활용한 창의 융합적 사고로 전남농업이 4차 산업혁명 시대의 미래 첨단 생명산업으로 도약하도록 앞장서 달라”고 당부했다.
전라남도는 현재 7,500여 명의 4-H회원이 활동하며, 농촌 지킴이 역할과 함께 지역사회 봉사에 앞장서고 있다.
특히 청년4-H회원들이 스마트농업 실천을 통해 미래농업의 주역으로 성장하고 있다고 도는 밝혔다.

“4-H Leads the Future of Jeonnam Agriculture!”
― Governor Kim Yung-rok Joins Young Farmers in Pledging a Leap Toward a Bio-Industry Future at the Jeonnam 4-H Family Festival in Yeonggwang ―

Jeonnam Governor Kim Yung-rok joined 4-H members—the next generation of farmers and rural leaders—in pledging to drive Jeonnam agriculture toward an advanced bio-industry future.
The “2025 Jeonnam 4-H Family Festival” was held on November 7 at the Yeonggwang Sportium National Sports Center. The event celebrated the growth of young 4-H members and shared a vision for sustainable future agriculture.
Co-hosted by Jeonnam Province and Yeonggwang County, and organized by the Jeonnam 4-H Association, the event gathered more than 800 participants, including students, young farmers, and leaders.
National Assembly members Lee Gae-ho and Shin Jung-hoon, Kim Kang-heon, Chairman of the Yeonggwang County Council, Jeonnam Provincial Assembly members Kim Sung-il and Oh Mi-hwa, Song Kwang-min, Deputy Governor of Yeonggwang, heads of city and county agricultural technology centers, and 4-H school principals also attended.
The program featured a pre-event performance, commendations for outstanding members, a vision performance, the 6th Jeonnam 4-H Awards Ceremony, and various activities promoting friendship and communication among members.
A special exhibition showcased agricultural products produced by young 4-H members and historical archives highlighting the legacy of the 4-H movement, attracting great interest from participants.
Moon Ho-jin, Chairman of the Korea 4-H Jeonnam Association, said,
“The Jeonnam 4-H movement unites school 4-H clubs, young 4-H members, and mentors as a human resource development organization. Let us all embody the 4-H spirit of ‘Making the Best Better’ through action and learning.”
Governor Kim Yung-rok emphasized,
“The 4-H movement is an educational initiative that fosters youth leadership in agriculture, environment, and life, serving as a driving force for rural development. I encourage young 4-H members to take the lead in transforming Jeonnam agriculture into a future-oriented, high-tech bio-industry through creative and convergent thinking powered by AI and big data.”
Jeonnam Province currently has about 7,500 active 4-H members who play a key role in supporting rural communities and engaging in local volunteer work.
In particular, young 4-H members are leading the way in smart farming, positioning themselves as the next generation of future farmers.
