전라남도는 여수시 돌산읍 평사리 일원에 조성되는 무술목 관광단지를 신규 관광단지로 공식 지정했다고 10일 밝혔다.

이번 지정은 관계부처 협의와 각종 행정절차를 모두 마무리함에 따라 확정됐다.

무술목 관광단지는 총 119만㎡ 부지에 8천985억 원 규모의 민간 투자를 바탕으로 조성되는 대규모 해양 복합 관광단지다.

전남도는 이곳을 남해안권 대표 체류형 관광지로 육성할 계획이다.

주요 시설은 호텔·리조트 810실, 연립형 숙박시설 168실, 18홀 규모 골프장, 파빌리온 가든, 오션 파노라마 전망시설 등이다.

천혜의 해안경관과 다도해 풍광을 최대한 보존하면서 사계절 방문 가능한 고품격 휴양·체류형 관광 거점으로 조성될 예정이다.

무술목은 이미 여수 밤바다·돌산대교 등으로 전국적인 관광 인지도를 갖추고 있으며, 이번 관광단지 개발로 오동도·향일암·여수세계섬박람회장 등 기존 관광지와의 연계 시너지 효과가 확대될 전망이다.

전남도는 이를 통해 생활인구 유입, 지역 상권 활성화, 소비 확대 등 지역경제 전반에 파급효과가 클 것으로 기대하고 있다.

김영록 전남도지사는 “무술목 관광단지 지정은 남해안권을 대표하는 해양 복합 관광거점으로 도약하는 중요한 전환점”이라며 “사업이 차질 없이 추진되도록 적극 지원하고, 국제관광 경쟁력 강화를 위해 속도감 있게 추진하겠다.”고 말했다.

무술목 관광단지는 지정 승인 이후 세부설계와 인허가 절차를 거쳐 2026년 착공, 2030년 준공을 목표로 추진된다.

Jeonnam Province Designates 1.19 Million㎡ ‘Musulmok Tourism Complex’ for Official Development
Accommodation, Golf Course, and Landmark Ocean View Facilities Planned
Jeollanam-do announced on the 10th that the Musulmok Tourism Complex, to be developed in Pyeongsa-ri, Dolsan-eup of Yeosu, has been officially designated as a new tourism development zone. The designation was finalized after completing consultations with relevant government ministries and all associated administrative procedures.
The Musulmok Tourism Complex will be built on a 1.19 million-square-meter site with private investment totaling KRW 898.5 billion, making it a large-scale marine integrated tourism development. The province aims to foster the site as a leading stay-type destination within the southern coastal region.
Planned facilities include:
A hotel and resort with 810 guest rooms
168 units of townhouse-style accommodations
An 18-hole golf course
A pavilion-style garden
An ocean panoramic observation facility
The complex is designed to preserve the area’s natural coastal landscape and expansive sea views of the Dadohae Archipelago, creating a high-end, four-season leisure and relaxation destination.
Musulmok is already well known for its scenic Yeosu night sea and Dolsan Bridge, and the new development is expected to enhance synergy with existing attractions such as Odongdo Island, Hyangiram Hermitage, and the Yeosu World Expo site. The province anticipates significant economic benefits, including increased visitor population, revitalization of local commercial districts, and expanded consumption.
Governor Kim Young-rok stated,
“The designation of the Musulmok Tourism Complex marks a pivotal step toward transforming the southern coastal region into a premiere marine tourism hub. We will actively support seamless project progress and work to further strengthen the region’s international tourism competitiveness.”
Following designation, the project will undergo detailed design and permit procedures, with construction slated to begin in 2026 and completion targeted for 2030.
