전라남도국제농업박람회재단(대표이사 김행란)은 농업의 본질적 가치와 미래 비전을 예술 언어로 담아내기 위해 세계적 스마트폰 사진예술가 홍덕희 작가와 특별 협업 프로젝트를 진행하고 있다고 최근 밝혔다.
이번 프로젝트의 참여 작가 홍덕희는 ‘예술의 민주화’를 실천하는 글로벌 스마트폰 사진예술가로 알려져 있다.
그는 6년 동안 국내 스마트폰 S10 한 기종만을 사용해 작품 활동을 이어오며, 고가 장비 없이도 누구나 예술가가 될 수 있다는 철학을 실천하고 있다.
현재 독일 AMB 명예 공동 큐레이터이자 2024 프랑스 루브르 아트페어 참여 작가로 유럽 미술계에서도 주목받고 있다.
이번 프로젝트의 주제는 「공존의 가치, 미래를 잇는 기록: 농업, 생명 그리고 지속 가능한 삶」이다.
작가는 2025 전남국제농업박람회의 현장과 사람, 기술을 세 가지 예술적 시선으로 포착했다.
농업은 문명의 근원으로 삶을 이어 가고 있다.
자연·과학·인간의 조화를 통해 생명의 순환을 지켜온 농업의 본질적 가치를 시각화로 새로운 미래 동반자로 로봇은 인간의 친구이다.
첨단 농업기술이 인간적 온기와 충돌이 아닌 공존으로 이어질 수 있음을 표현하고 연결되는 미소는 지속 가능한 공동체를 의미한다.
박람회 참여 시민들의 밝은 미소를 통해 지역 공동체의 조화와 지속 가능성을 상징화에 관심을 가지고 있다.
해당 작품들은 전남국제농업박람회 공식 누리집(www.iae.or.kr)및 공식 SNS 채널, 작가 개인 SNS 채널을 통해 순차적으로 공개된다.
박람회 측은 농업을 단순 1차 산업이 아닌, 인간 치유·지속가능성·문화 창조의 영역까지 확장된 미래 성장 콘텐츠로 알리려는 취지라고 설명했다.
또한 전통 농업 현장에 AI·스마트팜·로봇기술이 결합하는 시대적 변화를 예술적 감성 언어로 해석해 전 세계에 새로운 농업 비전을 제시하겠다는 전략이다.
박관수 전남도국제농업박람회사무국장은 “홍덕희 작가의 글로벌 인지도와 예술적 관점은 전남 농업이 전통·기술·문화가 융합된 가장 혁신적 콘텐츠임을 보여줄 것”이라며 “세 가지 시선으로 포착된 농업의 메시지는 박람회를 찾는 관람객들에게 깊은 울림과 시대적 치유를 선사할 것”이라고 밝혔다.

Jeonnam International Agriculture Expo Presents the Future of Agriculture Through Art
– World-Renowned Smartphone Photography Artist Hong Deok-hee Unveils Special Project –
The Jeonnam International Agriculture Expo Foundation (CEO Kim Haeng-ran) announced that it is collaborating on a special art project with globally recognized smartphone photography artist Hong Deok-hee, with the aim of expressing the essential value and future vision of agriculture through the language of contemporary art.
Hong Deok-hee is known as a global smartphone art pioneer who practices the philosophy of “democratizing art.”
For the past six years, he has created all of his work using only a single domestic smartphone model (Galaxy S10), demonstrating his belief that anyone can become an artist without relying on expensive equipment.
He currently serves as an Honorary Co-Curator at AMB in Germany and participated in the 2024 Louvre Art Fair in France, earning increasing recognition within the European art scene.
The theme of this special project is:
“The Value of Coexistence, A Record Connecting the Future: Agriculture, Life, and Sustainable Living.”
Hong captures the scenes, people, and technologies seen throughout the 2025 Jeonnam International Agriculture Expo through three distinct artistic perspectives:
Agriculture as the Origin of Civilization
Visualizing the timeless role of agriculture in sustaining human life through the harmony of nature, science, and humanity.
Coexistence of Humans and Technology
Portraying agricultural robots not as cold machines, but as companions, showing that advanced smart farming technologies can coexist with human warmth.
The Smile That Connects Communities
The bright smiles of participating citizens symbolize the sustainability and unity of local communities.
The works from this project will be released sequentially via the Expo’s official website (www.iae.or.kr
), official SNS channels, and the artist’s personal social media platforms.
The Expo organizers emphasized that agriculture should no longer be viewed solely as a primary industry, but as a future growth force that encompasses human healing, sustainability, and cultural creativity.
Furthermore, the fusion of traditional farming with AI, smart farms, and agricultural robotics is being interpreted through an artistic emotional lens, aiming to present a new global vision for the future of agriculture.
Park Kwan-soo, Secretary-General of the Jeonnam International Agriculture Expo, stated:
