전라남도가 귀농·귀촌인의 정착을 응원하고 지역 발전의 힘을 모으기 위해 개최한 ‘2025년 귀농어귀촌인 어울림대회’가 14일 완도 청해진스포츠센터에서 600여 명의 귀농·귀촌인과 가족, 관계자들이 참여한 가운데 성황리에 열렸다.
이번 행사는 전남귀농어귀촌인연합회(회장 김민주)가 주관했으며, “새로운 시작, 함께 만드는 전남의 미래”를 주제로 지역사회 정착을 넘어 전남 발전의 동력으로 자리 잡은 귀농·귀촌인의 도전을 격려하는 자리로 꾸며졌다.
■ 식전 공연부터 표창까지… 화합으로 이어진 개회식
행사는 색소폰·가야금 식전 공연으로 문을 열었다. 뒤이어 열린 개회식에는 김영록 전남도지사, 신우철 완도군수, 김양훈 완도군의회 의장, 신의준 전남도의회 의원 등 주요 인사가 참석해 귀농·귀촌인의 노력을 격려했다.
시상식에서는 김지혜 여수시 귀농어귀촌협회 사무국장 등 5명이 도지사 표창, 이성상 완도군 귀농어 귀촌협회장 등 6명이 전국 및 도 연합회장 공로패를 각각 수상하며 공동체 발전에 기여한 공로를 인정받았다.
■ “전남 발전의 주역은 여러분입니다”… AI 수도 전남 비전도 공유
행사의 하이라이트는 무대 위에서 진행된 ‘박 터트리기 퍼포먼스’였다.

내빈들은 ‘농업·농촌의 희망’, ‘전남 귀농어귀촌인’, ‘OK, NOW 대한민국 AI 수도’, 세 문구가 적힌 박을 터트리며, 귀농·귀촌인의 새로운 출발과 전남도의 미래 도약을 함께 기원했다.
김영록 지사는 격려사를 통해 “귀농·귀촌은 전남 인구 활력의 중심이며 지역경제를 이끄는 새로운 동력”이라고 강조하며, “정착의 기쁨을 느낄 수 있도록 도 차원에서 적극 지원하겠다.”고 약속했다.
이어 “글로벌 AI 데이터센터 유치 등 전남의 새로운 기회를 활용해 더 많은 분이 전남으로 올 수 있도록 발전의 기반을 확고히 다지겠다.”고 밝혔다.
■ 농특산물 전시·재능공연… 귀농·귀촌 공동체의 ‘진짜 힘’ 보여
행사장에는 시·군 귀농귀촌인이 직접 생산한 농특산물 전시 부스도 운영됐다.
참석자들은 지역별 농산물을 둘러보며 지역 간 교류의 장을 넓혔다.
또한 ‘어울림 한마당’에서는 귀농·귀촌인이 직접 참여한 재능 공연과 장기자랑이 이어져, 서로를 격려하고 웃음을 나누는 화합의 시간을 만들었다.
김민주 연합회장은 “회원 간 협력과 교류를 기반으로 전남 귀농·귀촌의 새로운 미래를 열겠다.”며 “삶의 터전이 된 지역사회 발전에도 최선을 다하겠다.”고 다짐했다.
■ 전남 귀농·귀촌 공동체의 든든한 기반
2016년 설립된 (사)전남도귀농어귀촌인연합회는 현재 회원 4,751명이 활동하며 정착 교육, 정보 교류, 지역사회 연계 사업 등 귀농·귀촌인의 안정적 정착을 위한 핵심 역할을 수행하고 있다.

**“Jeonnam Calls — A New Life Begins”
Jeollanam-do Supports the Challenges of Returnees to Farming and Fishing, Unveiling a Vision for the Region’s Future**
— Successful ‘2025 Harmony Festival for Returnees to Farming and Fishing’ in Wando with Over 600 Participants… A Gathering of Unity, Exchange, and Shared Commitment to Regional Growth —
Jeollanam-do hosted the ‘2025 Harmony Festival for Returnees to Farming and Fishing’ on the 14th at the Cheonghaejin Sports Center in Wando, where more than 600 returnees, their families, and local officials gathered to celebrate their settlement journeys and strengthen regional development efforts.
Organized by the Jeonnam Association of Returnees to Farming and Fishing (Chairman Kim Min-ju), the event was held under the theme “A New Beginning, Creating Jeonnam’s Future Together.” The festival highlighted the pivotal role of returnees in revitalizing rural communities and driving Jeonnam’s long-term growth.
■ From Pre-Event Performances to Awards… A Ceremony Filled with Unity
The event opened with saxophone and gayageum performances, setting an uplifting tone.
At the opening ceremony, major dignitaries—including Governor Kim Yung-rok, Wando County Mayor Shin Woo-cheol, Wando County Council Chair Kim Yang-hoon, and Provincial Assembly Member Shin Ui-jun—attended to honor the contributions of returnees.
During the awards presentation:
Five individuals, including Kim Ji-hye, Secretary-General of the Yeosu Association of Returnees, received the Governor’s Citation, and
Six individuals, including Lee Sung-sang, President of the Wando Association of Returnees, were presented with Meritorious Service Awards from the national and provincial associations.
■ “You Are the Drivers of Jeonnam’s Future”… Sharing the Vision of Jeonnam as Korea’s AI Capital
The highlight of the event was a symbolic performance in which dignitaries took the stage to break three gourds emblazoned with the phrases:
“Hope for Agriculture and Rural Communities”
“Jeonnam Returnees to Farming and Fishing”
“OK, NOW — Korea’s AI Capital”
The act represented a shared wish for both the new beginnings of returnees and Jeonnam’s ambitious future.
Governor Kim emphasized in his congratulatory remarks:
“Returning to farming and fishing is a key driver of Jeonnam’s demographic vitality and economic momentum. The provincial government will do its utmost to ensure that your settlement here is fulfilling.”
He added, “With new opportunities such as attracting global AI data centers, we will strengthen Jeonnam’s growth base so that even more people choose Jeonnam as their new home.”
■ Local Products Exhibition & Talent Performances… Showcasing the True Strength of the Community
An exhibition zone featuring agricultural and specialty products produced by returnees from cities and counties across Jeonnam was also prepared. Visitors explored a variety of local goods and fostered interregional exchange.
The ‘Harmony Stage’ section featured talent shows and performances by returnees themselves, creating a lively atmosphere of laughter, encouragement, and community bonding.
Chairman Kim Min-ju stated, “With stronger cooperation and交流 among our members, we will open a new chapter for Jeonnam’s returnee community. We will do our best to contribute to the development of the local communities that have become our new homes.”
■ A Strong and Growing Community
Established in 2016, the Jeonnam Association of Returnees to Farming and Fishing now has 4,751 members. It plays a central role in supporting settlement through education, information sharing, and community-linked programs, helping returnees integrate smoothly into rural life.
