전라남도는 곡성군 고달면에 위치한 가정마을을 11월 농촌체험휴양마을로 선정했다.
가정마을은 전국에서 가장 오래된 1세대 녹색농촌체험마을 가운데 하나로, 자연과 농업을 기반으로 한 체험 프로그램을 통해 도시민에게 힐링·휴식을 제공하는 마을로 평가받고 있다.
가정마을은 4인실·8인실·20인실 등 다양한 형태의 숙박시설을 갖춰 가족 단위 여행객은 물론 50명 이상 단체 체험객까지 수용 가능한 인프라를 갖췄다.
단체 방문객에게는 지역 특산물과 신선한 농산물로 차린 시골밥상이 제공돼 농촌의 맛을 그대로 경험할 수 있다.
마을에서는 계절별 농작물 수확 체험이 특히 인기를 끈다.
봄에는 고사리 채취, 여름에는 복숭아 수확과 손수청 만들기, 가을에는 알밤 줍기·단감 따기, 겨울에는 전통 고추장 담그기 등 사계절 농촌문화를 직접 체험할 수 있다.
마을 주민들이 재배한 고사리·대봉감·배 등 신선한 농산물도 현장에서 구매할 수 있어, 농촌 방문의 즐거움이 더해진다.
가정마을 주변에는 섬진강이 흐르며 강변 산책로가 잘 조성돼 있어 자연 속 여유로운 산책이 가능하다.
또한 곡성세계장미공원, 곡성기차마을, 가정역, 섬진강출렁다리, 곡성천문대 등 인근 관광지가 풍부해 1박 2일 체류형 여행지로 적합하다는 평가다.
김현미 전남도 농업정책과장은 “곡성 가정마을은 가족부터 단체까지 모두 편안하게 이용할 수 있는 체험 공간”이라며 “사계절 농업체험과 신선한 지역 농산물을 통해 마음의 여유와 농촌의 매력을 만끽하길 바란다.”고 말했다.
한편 전남도는 현재 171개 농촌체험휴양마을을 운영하고 있으며, 연간 약 130만 명이 방문하고 있다.
도는 매월 우수 마을을 선정해 홍보와 지원을 강화함으로써 농촌 소득 증대와 정주 여건 개선을 지속 추진할 방침이다.

Gokseong Gajeong Village Selected as Jeonnam’s Rural Experience & Recreation Village for November
– A four-season rural culture destination reborn as a first-generation green experience village –
Jeollanam-do has selected Gajeong Village in Godal-myeon, Gokseong as its Rural Experience & Recreation Village for the month of November.
Gajeong Village is recognized as one of Korea’s earliest first-generation green rural experience villages. Built on the harmony of nature and agriculture, the village offers various programs that provide urban residents with healing and relaxation.
The village is equipped with diverse lodging facilities, including rooms for 4, 8, and 20 people, making it suitable for family visitors as well as groups of over 50 participants.
Large groups are served traditional rural meals prepared with local specialties and fresh seasonal ingredients, offering an authentic taste of the countryside.
Seasonal crop harvesting programs are among the village’s most popular activities.
Visitors can enjoy bracken picking in spring, peach harvesting and peach syrup making in summer, chestnut gathering and persimmon picking in autumn, and traditional red pepper paste making in winter, experiencing rural life throughout the year.
Fresh produce grown by village residents—such as bracken, Daebong persimmons, and pears—is also available for purchase onsite, adding to the charm of rural tourism.
The village sits along the Seomjin River, where well-maintained riverside walking paths allow visitors to enjoy peaceful strolls in nature.
Nearby attractions include Gokseong World Rose Garden, Gokseong Rail Park, Gajeong Station, Seomjin River Suspension Bridge, and Gokseong Observatory, making the area ideal for a one- or two-day stay.
Kim Hyun-mi, Director of Jeonnam’s Agricultural Policy Division, stated,
“Gokseong Gajeong Village offers a comfortable experience for everyone—from families to large groups. We hope visitors will enjoy the healing atmosphere, seasonal farming activities, and fresh local produce that showcase the charm of rural life.”
Currently, Jeollanam-do operates 171 rural experience and recreation villages, attracting approximately 1.3 million visitors annually.
The province plans to continue selecting outstanding villages each month to strengthen promotion and support, contributing to increased rural income and improved living conditions.
