전라남도가 도민 생활과 직결된 각종 시설의 안전 확보를 위해 대대적인 ‘집중안전점검’에 나선다.

전남도는 4월 20일부터 6월 19일까지 61일간 건설현장, 노후 건축물, 도로 시설물, 어린이 이용시설, 산사태 취약지역 등 총 1,683개소를 대상으로 집중 안전점검을 실시한다고 밝혔다.
이번 점검은 특히 어린이놀이시설, 요양병원, 어린이 테마파크, 전통시장, 쪽방촌, 외국인근로자 시설 등 안전 취약계층이 이용하는 시설을 중심으로 진행된다.

점검에는 전남도 안전관리자문단과 민간협의체 등 전문가 279명을 비롯해 공무원, 도민, 유관기관이 참여하는 민관 합동 체계가 가동된다. 단순 점검을 넘어 현장 대응력을 높이기 위한 ‘실효성 중심’ 점검이라는 점이 특징이다.

특히 시설 유형별로 드론, 열화상카메라, 가스누출탐지기 등 첨단 장비 사용을 의무화해 점검의 정밀도를 크게 끌어올릴 계획이다.
도민 참여를 확대하기 위한 제도도 병행된다. 각 시군은 ‘주민점검신청제’를 운영해 주민이 직접 발굴한 위험시설을 전문가가 점검하도록 하고, 전남도는 ‘도민안전점검 청구제’를 통해 사각지대 해소에 나선다.
또한 다중이용시설과 가정을 대상으로 자율 안전점검표를 배부해 생활 속 안전문화 확산을 유도할 방침이다.

점검 결과에 대해서는 현장에서 즉시 조치 가능한 사항은 바로 시정하고, 중대한 결함이 발견된 시설은 재난관리기금 등을 활용해 신속한 보수·보강에 들어간다.

아울러 점검 결과는 ‘안전정보 통합공개시스템(safewatch.safemap.go.kr)’에 공개해 투명성을 확보한다는 계획이다.
집중안전점검은 지난 2015년부터 정부와 지자체, 도민이 함께 참여하는 전국 단위 안전관리 점검 체계로, 지역 내 잠재적 위험요인을 사전에 발굴·개선하기 위해 매년 실시되고 있다.

전남도는 지난해에도 1,687개소를 점검해 현지 시정 279건, 보수·보강 486건, 정밀 안전진단 11건 등을 조치한 바 있다.

최용채 전남도 사회재난과장은 “기후 변화와 사회 구조 변화로 재난 유형이 점점 다양해지고 있다”며 “도민들도 일상 속 위험요인을 꼼꼼히 살피고 이상 징후 발견 시 즉시 신고해달라”고 당부했다.

South Jeolla Province (Jeollanam-do) has launched a large-scale “Intensive Safety Inspection” to ensure the safety of facilities directly related to residents’ daily lives.
The provincial government announced that from April 20 to June 19, over a 61-day period, it will conduct safety inspections at a total of 1,683 sites, including construction sites, aging buildings, road facilities, children’s facilities, and landslide-prone areas.
This round of inspections will focus particularly on facilities used by vulnerable groups, such as children’s playgrounds, nursing hospitals, children’s theme parks, traditional markets, informal housing areas, and facilities for foreign workers.
A total of 279 experts from the provincial safety advisory group and private-sector consultative bodies, along with public officials, residents, and related organizations, will participate in a public-private joint inspection system. The initiative emphasizes practical, on-site effectiveness beyond routine inspections.
In particular, the province plans to enhance inspection precision by mandating the use of advanced equipment such as drones, thermal imaging cameras, and gas leak detectors depending on facility type.
Measures to expand public participation will also be implemented. Cities and counties will operate a “Resident Inspection Request System,” allowing residents to report potentially dangerous facilities for expert inspection. In addition, the province will run a “Provincial Safety Inspection Petition System” to directly address blind spots in safety management.
Furthermore, self-inspection checklists will be distributed to multi-use facilities and households to promote a culture of safety in everyday life.
Inspection results will be handled promptly: issues that can be corrected on-site will be immediately addressed, while facilities with major defects will undergo swift repair and reinforcement using disaster management funds.
The results will also be disclosed through the Integrated Safety Information Disclosure System (safewatch.safemap.go.kr) to ensure transparency.
The Intensive Safety Inspection program has been conducted annually since 2015 as a nationwide initiative involving the government, local authorities, and citizens to identify and eliminate potential risks in advance.
Last year, the province inspected 1,687 sites, resulting in 279 on-site corrections, 486 repairs and reinforcements, and 11 detailed safety diagnoses.
