더불어민주당 명현관 해남군수 예비후보가 주말에도 쉼 없이 군민 삶의 현장을 직접 찾으며 ‘현장 중심 민생 정치’를 이어가고 있다.
명 예비후보는 지난 5월 2일, 북평 남창 오일장을 시작으로 하루 종일 해남 전역을 순회하며 상인과 주민, 어르신, 문화예술인, 체육인 등 다양한 계층과 소통하는 촘촘한 일정을 소화했다.
이날 오전 명 예비후보는 남창 오일장을 찾아 상인들과 일일이 인사를 나누고 지역 경제 상황과 애로사항을 청취했다. 이어 송지·문내·화원·화산면 등 각 읍면에서 나들이와 산행에 나서는 주민들을 배웅하며 안전을 기원하는 등 생활 밀착형 행보를 이어갔다.
■ 경로잔치·복지현장 집중 점검… “어르신이 존중받는 해남”
명 예비후보는 황산 소망요양원과 산이 산두마을, 화산 명성마을, 삼산 계동마을 등에서 열린 경로잔치 현장을 잇달아 방문했다.
이 자리에서 어르신들의 건강 상태를 살피고 생활 불편을 직접 청취하며, 실질적인 복지 정책과 인프라 확충 의지를 강조했다.
그는 “어르신들이 편안하고 존중받는 노후를 보내는 것이 곧 해남의 품격”이라며 “현장에서 들은 목소리를 정책으로 반드시 연결하겠다”고 밝혔다.
■ 문화·체육·축제 현장까지… “살아 숨 쉬는 문화도시 해남”
오후에는 군민광장에서 열린 해남민속예술제에 참석해 전통문화 계승에 힘쓰는 예술인들을 격려했다.
이어 문내면 거북이축구단 발대식에 참석해 체육인들과 소통하며 지역 공동체 활성화 의지를 다졌다.
또한 황산 공룡박물관 일원에서 열린 공룡대축제 기념식과 가족음악회에 참석해 군민들과 함께 축제를 즐기며 문화와 관광이 결합된 해남의 미래 비전을 공유했다.
■ “원팀으로 승리”… 지역 정치·공동체 연대 강화
명 예비후보는 옥천면과 군청 북문 인근에서 열린 한종천·이기우 후보 선거사무소 개소식에도 참석해 더불어민주당 ‘원팀 정신’을 강조했다.
이와 함께 마산면 호교리 구순잔치와 주민 생일잔치 등 지역민의 대소사를 챙기며 생활 속 정치인의 모습을 보여줬다.
■ “현장 목소리가 해남의 미래”… 농어촌수도 비전 재확인
명 예비후보는 “주말에도 현장에서 만난 군민들의 생생한 목소리가 해남 발전의 가장 중요한 자산”이라며
“민선 8기 성과를 바탕으로 농어업 가치를 극대화하고 문화·관광과 연계해 대한민국 대표 ‘농어촌수도 해남’을 완성하겠다”고 강조했다.
현재 그는 현장 중심 소통을 기반으로 군민 체감형 정책 마련에 집중하며, 중단 없는 해남 발전을 위한 3선 도전에 박차를 가하고 있다.

Myung Hyun-kwan, a preliminary candidate for Haenam County Mayor from the Democratic Party of Korea, is continuing his on-the-ground, people-centered political outreach by visiting local communities without rest, even on weekends.
On May 2, Myung began his day at the Namchang traditional five-day market in Bukpyeong and spent the entire day traveling across Haenam, engaging with merchants, residents, seniors, artists, and athletes through a tightly scheduled series of visits.
In the morning, he greeted merchants at the market and listened to their concerns about the local economy. He then moved through Songji, Munnae, Hwayeon, and Hwasan, seeing off residents heading out for outings and hikes, wishing them safe and enjoyable journeys—demonstrating his close, grassroots engagement with everyday life.
■ Focus on Senior Welfare… “A Haenam Where the Elderly Are Respected”
Myung visited several senior community events, including those at Hwangsan Somang Nursing Home, Sani Sandu Village, Hwasan Myeongseong Village, and Samsan Gyedong Village.
He checked on the health and well-being of elderly residents and listened directly to their concerns, emphasizing his commitment to strengthening practical welfare policies and infrastructure.
“The dignity of Haenam lies in ensuring that our seniors live comfortable and respected lives,” he said. “The voices I hear in the field will be directly reflected in policy.”
■ From Culture to Sports and Festivals… “A Living Cultural City”
In the afternoon, he attended the Haenam Folk Arts Festival at the county plaza, encouraging artists dedicated to preserving traditional culture.
He also joined the inauguration ceremony of the Turtle Football Club in Munnae, engaging with local sports communities and reinforcing his vision for a vibrant, connected society.
Later, at the Dinosaur Festival held around the Hwangsan Dinosaur Museum, he participated in the opening ceremony and family concert, sharing the joy of the event with residents and presenting a future vision of Haenam where culture and tourism are integrated.
■ “Win as One Team”… Strengthening Political and Community Solidarity
Myung also attended the opening ceremonies of campaign offices for candidates Han Jong-cheon and Lee Gi-woo in Okcheon and near the county office’s north gate, emphasizing unity within the Democratic Party.
He further demonstrated sincerity by attending local milestone events such as a 90th birthday celebration in Hogyo-ri, Masan-myeon, and residents’ birthday gatherings, staying closely connected to everyday community life.
■ “Voices from the Field Shape Haenam’s Future”… Reaffirming Rural Capital Vision
“My weekend interactions with residents reaffirm that their voices are the most valuable asset for Haenam’s development,” Myung stated.
“Building on the achievements of the 8th local administration, I will maximize the value of agriculture and fisheries and link them with culture and tourism to establish Haenam as Korea’s leading ‘rural capital.’”
Currently, Myung continues to focus on field-based communication to develop policies that residents can truly feel, accelerating his campaign for a third term and uninterrupted development of Haenam.
