전라남도가 올 가을 국제 규모의 굵직한 행사들을 잇따라 열며 전 세계에 ‘전남 브랜드’의 매력을 알리고 있다.

이번 메가 이벤트는 단순한 축제를 넘어 국제 교류의 장이자 지역경제·관광산업을 견인할 핵심 동력으로 주목받고 있다.

◇ 동양의 미학, 세계와 만나다 – 전남국제수묵비엔날레
해남·진도·목포 일원에서 진행 중인 제4회 전남국제수묵비엔날레는 20개국 83명의 작가가 참여해 회화, 설치, 미디어아트 등 다양한 작품을 선보인다. 특히 조선 후기 화가 윤두서의 대표작 세마도 원본도 공개돼 눈길을 끈다.

◇ 남도의 맛, 세계 무대에 – 남도국제미식산업박람회
목포에서 열리는 남도국제미식산업박람회에는 38개국이 참가한다. 국내외 스타 셰프 요리 시연, K-푸드 산업관, 아세안 파빌리온 등 다채로운 프로그램으로 ‘맛의 본고장’ 남도의 위상을 알린다.

◇ 농업의 미래 제시 – 국제농업박람회
나주 전남농업기술원에서 열리는 국제농업박람회는 AI와 스마트팜, 농업 로봇 등 첨단 기술을 선보인다. 청년 창농 지원, 해외 바이어 수출상담 등 실질적 교류도 강화된다.

◇ 세계 골프 팬들의 축제 – LPGA BMW 레이디스 챔피언십
해남 파인비치 골프링크스에선 세계 여자골프 스타들이 출전하는 LPGA 정규 대회가 열린다. 총상금 230만 달러 규모로, 약 6만 명의 관람객이 방문할 것으로 예상돼 지역경제 활성화 효과가 기대된다.

전남도 관계자는 “이번 가을 국제 메가 이벤트를 통해 전남이 가진 문화·미식·농업·스포츠 자원을 세계에 알리고, 지역경제 활성화에도 기여하겠다.”고 밝혔다.

■ Eastern Aesthetics Meet the World – Jeonnam International Ink Biennale
Taking place across Haenam, Jindo, and Mokpo, the 4th Jeonnam International Ink Biennale features works by 83 artists from 20 countries. The exhibition spans painting, installation, and media art, with a special highlight being the rare public display of Semado, a masterpiece by late Joseon-era painter Yun Du-seo.
■ The Taste of Namdo on the Global Stage – Namdo International Gastronomy Expo
The Namdo International Gastronomy Expo in Mokpo welcomes participants from 38 countries. Programs include cooking demonstrations by world-renowned chefs, a K-Food industry pavilion, and an ASEAN pavilion, all designed to showcase Namdo’s reputation as the “home of flavor.”
■ Showcasing the Future of Agriculture – International Agricultural Expo
Held at the Jeonnam Agricultural Research and Extension Services in Naju, the International Agricultural Expo introduces cutting-edge technologies such as AI, smart farms, and agricultural robots. The event also promotes practical exchanges, including support for young farmers and export consultations with overseas buyers.
■ A Festival for Global Golf Fans – LPGA BMW Ladies Championship
At the Pine Beach Golf Links in Haenam, the LPGA BMW Ladies Championship will bring together world-class female golfers. With a total prize pool of $2.3 million, the tournament is expected to attract about 60,000 spectators, generating significant economic benefits for the region.
A Jeonnam provincial official stated, “Through this year’s international mega events, Jeonnam will showcase its unique assets in culture, cuisine, agriculture, and sports to the world, while also boosting the regional economy.”
