전남, 전국 최다 9개 어촌 ‘신활력증진사업’ 선정!

전라남도가 해양수산부의 ‘2026년 어촌신활력증진사업’ 공모에서 전국 34개소 중 9개소가 선정돼 총사업비 898억 원(국비 629억 원)을 확보했다.

이는 전국 대비 약 26%에 해당하는 전국 최다 선정 성과로, 전남도의 해양·어촌 정책 추진 역량을 다시 한 번 입증했다.

이번에 선정된 사업지는 여수 두포항, 순천 대대항, 고흥 남열항, 강진 수인항, 해남 학가항, 무안 도원항, 영광 월곡항, 완도 금일관문권역, 신안 상태도항 등 총 9개소다.

각 지역에는 최대 100억 원 규모의 예산이 투입될 예정으로, 생활·안전 인프라 확충과 어촌 주민 생활서비스 개선, 정주여건 향상 등에 집중된다.

전라남도는 2023년부터 2025년까지 이미 35개소가 어촌신활력증진사업에 선정돼 총 3,241억 원의 사업비를 확보한 바 있으며, 이번 9개소 추가 선정으로 도내 어촌 전역에 걸친 균형 발전 기반이 강화될 전망이다.

특히 전남도는 사업 초기 단계부터 주민의 참여를 적극 유도하고, 지역 맞춤형 전략을 수립해 높은 평가를 받았다.

주민 주도형 계획과 실질적인 생활 개선 방안을 반영한 점이 성공 요인으로 꼽힌다.

박영채 전남도 해양수산국장은 “이번 어촌신활력증진사업 선정은 낙후된 어촌의 인프라를 개선하고 정주여건을 획기적으로 높이는 계기가 될 것”이라며 “사업을 내실 있게 추진해 어업인의 삶의 질을 높이고, 활력 넘치는 전남 어촌을 만들겠다.”고 강조했다.

Jeonnam Achieves Nation’s Highest Selection with 9 Fishing Villages in the ‘Fisheries Vitalization Project’!
― Secures 62.9 Billion KRW in National Funding… Major Boost to Infrastructure and Living Conditions ―
Jeollanam-do has announced that it was selected for 9 out of 34 sites nationwide in the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries’ 2026 Fishing Village Vitalization Project, securing a total project budget of 89.8 billion KRW (62.9 billion KRW in national funding).
This accounts for approximately 26% of all selected sites, marking the highest selection rate in the country and reaffirming Jeonnam’s strong capacity in maritime and fisheries policy implementation.
The selected sites include Yeosu Dupo Port, Suncheon Daedae Port, Goheung Namyeol Port, Gangjin Suin Port, Haenam Hakga Port, Muan Dowon Port, Yeonggwang Wolgok Port, Wando Geumil Gateway Area, and Sinan Sangtaedo Port — a total of nine locations.
Each site will receive up to 10 billion KRW in funding to enhance living and safety infrastructure, expand community services, and improve overall residential conditions in coastal villages.
Between 2023 and 2025, Jeollanam-do had already secured 3.241 trillion KRW across 35 sites through the same initiative. With this new selection, the province is expected to further strengthen the foundation for balanced development across all coastal regions.
Jeonnam’s success is attributed to active resident participation from the initial planning stage and the implementation of region-specific strategies tailored to local needs. Resident-led planning and the inclusion of practical improvement measures were key factors in earning high evaluations.

“This selection will serve as a turning point for improving infrastructure and living conditions in underdeveloped fishing villages. We will ensure the project is implemented effectively to enhance the quality of life for fishermen and revitalize Jeonnam’s coastal communities.”
